Defense Minister Bnei Gantz said today (Thursday) that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has no authority to grant permission to evacuate the Eviatar outpost.

This, after yesterday Netanyahu's chief of staff Asher Hayun sent a letter to his office, in which he claimed that he had not received approval from the prime minister to begin evacuation proceedings of the illegal outpost.

"There is no provision in the law stating that the issuance of a demarcation order in the Judea and Samaria area requires the approval of the Prime Minister," reads a letter sent back to Netanyahu's office.

The response also reads: "Without being required to answer the complex questions involved in determining the status of land in the area, the very establishment of the outpost is an illegal action that has exceptional scope and characteristics.
