Health Minister Heiner Garg (FDP) considers an extension of the 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered, tested) in Schleswig-Holstein to be appropriate. "Measures will continue to be needed - especially in autumn and winter - so that a short-term elimination of all remaining protective measures of the Corona Control Ordinance is not initially planned," Garg told the German Press Agency in Kiel on Monday.

Kiel - The state's current regulation expires on Sunday.

"The infection situation is currently stable and other indicators such as the seven-day hospitalization incidence are still at a low level," said Garg.

The vaccination rate is good.

More than half of the 12 to 17 year olds are fully vaccinated, in total this applies to 70 percent of all Schleswig-Holsteiners.

The state government is also closely monitoring the infection situation with regard to the autumn holidays and possible effects on the number of infections from those returning from travel, said Garg.

Therefore, the cabinet will probably extend the currently valid regulations in the coming days.

"The current regulation is already characterized by a lot of freedom, personal responsibility and recommendations and less by regulations." Except for the necessary protection of vulnerable groups, for example in care facilities, there is "largely normal coexistence under 3G conditions indoors" in the north.

With 3G, mask requirements and upper limits for events are no longer required in Schleswig-Holstein.

That brings more normality back to the cinema, soccer stadium or restaurant.

The distance requirement is only a recommendation.

Restaurateurs in Saxony-Anhalt skeptical about the 2G option

According to a random survey by the German Press Agency, restaurateurs in Saxony-Anhalt are skeptical of the newly introduced 2G option model.

In addition to the mandatory 3G regulation (access for vaccinated, convalescent and tested persons) at events, selection according to the so-called "2G option model" is now also allowed.

Free tests for students: new corona rules decided

Schleswig-Holstein's students can also have themselves tested for Corona free of charge during the autumn holidays (October 4 to 16).

That goes in the test centers, but if necessary schools also provide test kits before the holidays, said Education Minister Karin Prien (CDU) on Thursday.

"The self-assessment after a negative Corona self-test then applies to schoolchildren like a test certificate from the test center."

"It is clear that with a high vaccination rate and a continued good infection situation, we can get there faster than expected that corona control regulations will soon be a thing of the past," said Garg.
