India has been associated with the memory of those who visited it with beauty, magic, and unknown worlds that inspire surprise and pleasure in its visitors, which is what happened with Dr. Talib Imran and his body in his book The Gates of Legend, Exploring India, through which he tries to convey his observations to the reader in an interesting and unique way.
The writer holds a Ph.D. in differential geometry and astronomy from India. Through his book, he invites the reader to tour the parts of India, where he lived in the depths of its worlds, between the outcast Harijans and the Brahmans, the upper class affluent, indicating that cities and villages may be similar in shape, but the depth is different and everyone converges in their quest for unknown happiness. In fusion with the beliefs that have dominated them for thousands of years without being affected by a material civilization that surpassed all previous civilizations in its development.
The book issued by the Syrian General Book Organization and is located on 235 pages. It consists of two parts. The first is titled Travels of Revelation and the second is Features in Indian Literature and Culture, where Imran travels between the majestic Agra with its monuments to the Taj Mahal, the tomb of Mumtaz Habiba Shah Jahan, reviewing their historical details to single out a space for Jaipur city in another place. Maharajas, merchants, artifacts, castles, temples, and purification by the waters of the Ganges.
Dr. Imran moved his speech to the crowded city with millions of people who toil for a living, Bombay, the marine lung of India in trade, tourism and financial markets, and Calcutta, the city of twenty million people and the cultural capital of India, to Madras, the capital of the south, with its charming beach and giant long-lived trees.
Dr. Imran stops at the city of Kashmir, the most beautiful region in the world, with its valleys, lakes, springs and foothills extending from the Himalayas to its floats spread over lakes and rivers with remarkable compactness and aesthetics.
Each city in India, according to Dr. Imran, has its own charm, shape, and depth, and each of its 26 states has its own language, book, literature and art, explaining that its peoples are diverse in language and united in their belonging to India despite all the external temptations to sow discord and incitement to separation.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Talib Omran, born in 1948, holds a doctorate in differential engineering and astronomy from Aligarh University, India. He is a professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Damascus University. He has more than 115 books in the field of scientific studies, novels and science fiction stories.
