(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 16 - Greater public access to British royal palaces: this is one of the plans Prince Charles is thinking of when he becomes king, according to the Sunday Times. The heir to the throne, reports Sunday, wants to transform Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, the Castle of Windsor, Sandringham and Balmoral from "private spaces into public places".

These sites can already be visited, but Charles wants royal residences to be more accessible to his subjects and for longer periods throughout the year. According to the plan, for example, Buckingham Palace and its garden would remain open all year, even when the prince will be present.

Last month, the paper reported, due to the high demand to visit the Buckingham Palace garden, the Royal Collection Trust was forced to temporarily suspend ticket sales. (HANDLE).
