(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 14 - According to Istat, the first quarter of the year closed with a GDP "slightly down by 0.16%, but our economy is showing signs of robustness at the same time".
This was underlined by the Minister of Economy, Daniele Franco, citing - during the Ambrosetti Forum 'VersoSud' - the increase in employment in March, the stability in the same month of industrial production, the 5% increase in exports in the first two months of 2022 and the growth of the construction index (+ 21% in February on a year earlier).
"These are encouraging signs," he added.
