German Kita Prize goes to Heilbronn and Arnsberg

The best day-care centers are in Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia - at least that's what the jury of the German Day-care Center Prize thinks. The award was given to facilities that consistently put children at the center of their work.

Can the children in the Heilbronn family center "Olgkrippe" make their own decisions about everyday life in their day care center?

The "Olgakrippe" was therefore awarded the German Kita Prize on Monday in Berlin.

The prize was awarded for the fifth time in 2022.

50 institutions are finalists each year, two are honored as main prize winners.

The family centers in Arnsberg in the Sauerland were also awarded prize money of EUR 25,000.

The institutions that have networked city-wide won in the category "Local Alliance for Early Education".

Together, the family centers have set themselves the goal of enabling all children to grow up well.

The alliance has made the realization of children's rights a priority.

The jury was impressed by a children's rights day that attracted public attention through various campaigns and banners.

In addition, with uniform standards and good organization, the alliance has ensured that the family centers in Arnsberg are "remarkably independent of individuals and are therefore sustainable and forward-looking".
