Maccabi Netanya started pre-season training this week with six foreigners, and it seemed that its staff was closed, but to Walla!

Sport learned tonight (Tuesday) that the team from Sharon is trying to add German midfielder Daniel Didabi, a Stuttgart player from the Bundesliga last season.

If Didabi agrees to join Diamonds, the group will make efforts to sell one of the existing foreigners on Bnei Lem's squad, with Boris we being marked as one of the candidates to leave.

Just as it was in previous cases where Netanya strengthened with players from the German market, this time too the ties of the professional manager Almog Cohen are a key factor in the contacts: Cohen collaborated with Didabi in the Nuremberg uniform in the 2011/12 season.

The 32-year-old Didabi holds a particularly impressive balance sheet, which includes 46 goals and 36 assists in the German top league, while in his peak season (2015/16) he scored 13 goals and cooked up five more for Stuttgart.

Thanks to the ability he discovered that year, Wolfsburg acquired him for 7 million euros, and two years later Didabi returned to Stuttgart on a free transfer.

This season he has provided just one touchdown in 10 Bundesliga appearances, the last of which was in the 12th round.

In 2022 he played only twice in the reserve team.
