Annemiek Van Vleuten won the fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia for women, with start and finish in Cesena and 120.9 kilometers long.
The Dutch cyclocrossist won with a time of 3h13'12 ", winning the two-man challenge with the Spanish champion, Mavi Garcia, second. Marta Cavalli, on the other hand, finished in third place, with a delay of 41".
In fourth place, with a gap of 4'52 ", Silvia Persico, who regulated the platoon of the first pursuers.
The Colle del Barbotto, second ascent of the day, revolutionized the race and, consequently, the general classification of the race at Pink stages. Now Van Vleuten is in the lead in 8h46'32 ", 24" ahead of Garcia, second, and 56 "ahead of Cavalli, who is third.
