The World Health Organization office in the Middle East announced that a “fourth wave” of the Corona virus had entered the region, warning in particular of the seriousness of the epidemiological situation due to the “Delta” mutant.
And the Russian Interfax news agency quoted the director of the organization’s regional office, Ahmed Al-Manzari, as saying today that “most of the injured who are transferred to hospitals are not vaccinated, and we are now seeing the fourth wave of (Covid 19) in the region.”
He pointed out that the "delta" mutator of the virus was detected in 15 of 22 countries that "fall within the area of the office's jurisdiction" and that it causes a high number of HIV infections and deaths in the region.
According to the World Health Organization, the number of injuries in the region increased in the last month by 55 percent compared to the previous month, while the number of deaths increased by 15 percent.
The organization had indicated earlier that the "Delta" version is turning into the dominant version in the Middle East and North Africa region.
