The US Internet company Google has imposed a compulsory vaccination for employees who do not want to work in the home office.

"Everyone who comes to work on our campus must be vaccinated," said company boss Sundar Pichai in an email to his employees on Wednesday, the content of which he later made public.

The home office regulation will be extended to October 18 due to the renewed increase in the corona numbers.

"We will be introducing this rule in the United States in the coming weeks and expanding it to other regions in the coming months," Pichai wrote.

The provisions should therefore be adapted to the respective corona regulations of the individual countries and the availability of vaccines.

Google gave its employees the opportunity to work from home early last year.

Due to the spread of the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus, the number of cases is rising again in many places.

Apple also extends home office regulations

According to a report in the New York Times, the Apple group had already extended its home office regulation last week - also because of the spread of the Delta variant.
