The Government announced today (15th) that the current Director of the Budget and Tax Policy Unit of the Financial Secretary's Office, Wang Xueling, will take up the post of Administrative Commissioner for the Department of Justice from next Monday (22nd).


The Secretary for the Civil Service, Yeung Ho Pei-yin, said that Wang Xueling is a senior administrative officer with excellent leadership and management skills.

I am confident that she can continue to provide professional and efficient services to the public in her new position.


Wang Xueling joined the government in July 1988 as an executive director. After being transferred to the administrative grade in October 1992, she was promoted to the first-level administrative officer at the directorate level in April 2021.

She has served in various bureaux and departments, including the former Royal Hong Kong Police Force, the former Home Affairs Branch, the former Regional Services Department, the Security Bureau, the former Environment and Food Bureau and the Financial Services and Treasury Bureau.

She served as Deputy Secretary for Education from July 2012 to October 2019, Coordinator (Special Duties) of the Financial Secretary's Office from October 2019 to November 2020, and Finance from December 2020 Director of the Budget and Tax Policy Section of the Office of the Secretary-General.
