The Supreme Court of Justice of Guatemala this Friday ordered Attorney General María Consuelo Porras to deliver a detailed report to explain the decision to dismiss the former head of the Special Prosecutor Against Impunity (FECI), Juan Francisco Sandoval.
The Court's order is in response to a request for protection filed by various opposition deputies on July 24, a day after Sandoval's dismissal.

Juan Luis Pantaleón, spokesman for the Public Ministry, told CNN that the investigating body has been notified of the Supreme Court's decision and that they will send the report on the arguments that led the attorney general to dismiss the now former head of the FECI.
