The corona rules are currently being tightened nationwide, including in the hairdressing trade.

We show when 2G applies to a haircut in the salon.

On November 18, the Executive Chancellor Angela Merkel and Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz once again discussed the current corona situation with the state ministers at the federal-state meeting.

The prime ministers agreed on nationwide restrictions * due to the persistently high number of infections.

Hairdressers are also affected.

For a fresh haircut, new, stricter corona rules now apply in salons.

When does 2G or 2G plus apply at the hairdresser's?

According to the resolutions of the Corona summit, whether 2G, 2G plus or 3G plus applies to the hairdresser now depends on the

hospitalization rate of the respective federal state

, also known as the hospitalization incidence.

This means the number of people who had to be hospitalized for Covid-19 in the last 7 days, based on 100,000 people.

For body-hugging services, which also

include

hairdressers

, the following now applies:

  • Hospitalization rate of 3.0 or higher:

2G applies in the hairdressing salon.

This means that customers must be fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19.

    Corresponding evidence must be submitted.

  • Hospitalization rate of 6.0 or higher

: From this value, the 2G-Plus rule

    are valid.

Then vaccinated and convalescent people would also have to prove a daily, negative corona test.

Excluded

from the 2G rules are people who cannot be vaccinated, for whom there is no vaccination recommendation, and all children and adolescents under the age of 18.

Read here how the vaccination and convalescence can be verified when visiting the hairdresser.

Bavaria: Closure of hairdressers in hotspots

However, the federal states can also take corona measures that are stricter. So if you are planning to visit the hairdresser, you should definitely observe the relevant state ordinance. In

Bavaria

, for example

, the 2G rule will generally

apply

from Wednesday, November 24th, also for body-hugging services such as hairdressers - regardless of the incidence of hospitalization. The only exception here is trade. In counties and urban districts with a seven-day incidence of more than 1,000 (the so-called “hotspots”), public life is to be shut down entirely in large areas. Also

Hairdressers in hotspot regions

have to

close

,

however (unlike initially announced) only for three weeks, as

BR.de

informs.

Also

Baden-Wuerttemberg

wants to introduce stricter corona measures such as the German Press Agency (dpa) reported.

As early as Wednesday, November 24th, the new alert level II (number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units over 450) could apply.

2G plus stipulates this for events and also for body-hugging services - however, hairdressers are likely to be excluded here.

ZV-President: 2G for hairdressers "existence threatening" - illegal work fuels Corona

The Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (ZV) is extremely critical of the new Corona rules.

"The introduction of the nationwide 2G rule represents an enormous additional burden for hairdressing salons and is a

threat to the very

existence of businesses

, as it means that many customers are absent again," said ZV President Manuela Härtelt-Dören in a press release.

She fears that

illegal work will

spread

in hairdressing businesses at 2G

.

However, customers are "without exception safe in professionally run salons, because only there are protective and hygiene measures to contain the virus safely adhered to and monitored," warns the ZV President.

3G at work for hairdressers

For employees throughout Germany, the

3G rule at work will

apply from Wednesday, November 24th

, if physical contact with others cannot be ruled out.

This means that they are only allowed to enter their workplace if they have a vaccination, recovery or daily negative test evidence (or a maximum of 48 hours old PCR test) or if they carry out the corona test directly in the company.

Of course, hairdressers are also affected by this regulation.
