Yoram Arbel, one of the greatest broadcasters in the history of the State of Israel, is celebrating his 80th birthday today (Thursday).
The media man who began his career as early as the mid-1980s and still broadcasts games from the major leagues in Europe and the Premier League, received an unexpected milestone from President Yitzhak Herzog.
"Your voice has become an integral part of Israeli sports and public and general broadcasting in recent decades. I always remember how much the late Avi Haim Herzog liked to talk to you and listen to you.
In every sporting event in the country or in the world, in every crucial game that pinned the whole country to the screen, you were always there in the broadcast position, broadcasting, encouraging and celebrating with us achievements that went down in history remained etched in our consciousness quite a bit thanks to you.
Herzog added: "In the Olympics, the World Cup, the European Cup in basketball and the Premier League, an entire country was captivated to see and hear you in the happy moments as well as in the losses and disappointments. "Israeli sports, and of course the unique humor and wit. So true, we have not returned to the World Cup since the one and only time, and it may be that this is not how you build a wall, but you can definitely say that this is how you build a glorious career."
