Hansi Flick: No youth problems in German football

National coach Hansi Flick is not worried about young German footballers.

"I'm optimistic about that.

There will always be new players and talents coming.

The DFB works hard for this,” said Flick on the sidelines of the opening of the new DFB campus.

Frankfurt/Main - It is particularly important "that potential is recognized, what a player can achieve, where he can be in two, three, four years," emphasized the 57-year-old.

"That's why we need this academy."

The campus, which costs around 150 million euros, is to form the heart of German football in the future.

The national team will use the area for the first time in September in preparation for the final Nations League games against Hungary and England.

"We're looking forward to it," said Flick.

According to DFB director Oliver Bierhoff, all selection teams will benefit from the new opportunities.

“The academic part of the academy is enormously important.

What we observe here will make working with the team better, but we will also make it available to the entire football system," said the 54-year-old.

"There is no association in the world that agrees and brings it together like this - cooperation with top athletes, experts and clubs." dpa
