Hapoel Jerusalem hosts Maccabi Tel Aviv tonight (Monday) for the third meeting of the season between the two in the league. The hostess dreams of a surprise and knows that tonight's meeting between the two is not reminiscent of the Clasico games from recent years. The capital are struggling to adjust to life without the American players who left and recorded two away losses in Romema within 48 hours which determined they would probably finish the season in sixth place. In Jerusalem, they know that until next week's playoffs they will mainly have to try to connect as a team, and hope to present better basketball against Maccabi Tel Aviv, put more players in playing shape and maybe come up with a certain chance to surprise in the playoff quarterfinals.
Maccabi Tel Aviv leaves for Jerusalem after four victories in the top house, having already secured first place in the league and playing better basketball in every game.
The team was satisfied with the ability against Hapoel Holon, and especially praised the defensive side in recent weeks.
Maccabi will want to concentrate on the game in Jerusalem and only then look at the cup final, which is scheduled for next Thursday, but admitted that the game in the arena is for the record only and the least important in the coming week.
Othello Hunter returned to the roster at the expense of Dragon Bender.
The opening of the game was delayed by about 45 minutes due to problems with the scoreboard and the shot clock.
