Dog Mickey at the Hattersheim animal shelter needs an operation.

However, the costs for this are not affordable for the nurses.

So they ask for help.

Hattersheim – The animal shelter Hattersheim has launched a moving appeal.

The seven-year-old dog Mickey was brutally abused and suffers from the consequences.

This has become an expensive proposition for the keepers, with the final bill exceeding the facility's capacity.

Mickey comes out of a shelter in the Azores.

In such homes, many animals often live in a very small space and are often killed.

As a result of the abuse Mickey experienced there, he lost an eye and suffers from depression, as reported by the Hattersheim animal shelter on Facebook.

Mickey needs special food and has to go to the shelter regularly.

Pet owners know how high the bills can be, especially for animals in need of care.

However, the recent costs for Mickey exceed a lot, as reported by fnp.de.

The dog Mickey had to be operated after a cruciate ligament tear.

The animal shelter Hattersheim does not have to bear the costs.

Animal shelter Hattersheim asks for help: OP costs for abused dog are skyrocketing

Mickey had to be operated on, as reported by the Hattersheim animal shelter.

The dog had torn his cruciate ligament and was in severe pain.

As a result, he underwent an operation and seems to be on the mend, but the next problem is already at hand: the vet bill for Mickey's treatment is two pages long and amounts to 3029.58 euros.

For the Hattersheim animal shelter, this amount, together with the other veterinary costs, is currently not possible.

The helpers have therefore started a call for donations on Facebook in order to be able to "take a deep breath and sleep a little more peacefully".

If you want to help Mickey the dog in a more direct way, you can also offer to adopt him.

However, due to its physical and mental condition, it needs experienced owners without children, as the keepers write on their website.

Only recently the animal shelter Hattersheim offered to take in animals from the Ukraine.

The operators also participated in a special transport to the war-torn country.
