Bayerisch Gmain - A holidaymaker from the Upper Palatinate was on Saturday (June 6th) in the Speik in the northeastern Latten Mountains. The man was on the Speik-Weißbach circular route and crashed while taking photos in the pathless terrain over a steep slope on the western bank of the rear Speikbach. This was announced by the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) district association Berchtesgadener Land.

First aiders tried to reach the man and made an emergency call to the Traunstein control center at around 11.50 a.m. The rescue helicopter "Christoph 14" was already nearby and quickly found the scene of the accident. The crew brought the emergency doctor and a mountain rescuer from Reichenhall to the accident site, as the BRK further announced.

The doctor provided medical care to the injured in the steep terrain. The mountain rescuer meanwhile built a stand for fall protection. “The emergency services took the injured person further up the slope to a better pick-up point. 'Christoph 14' then picked up the patient and the two rescuers with the rope and flew them to Bayerisch Gmain, ”the BRK said.

The injured man was taken to the Bad Reichenhall district clinic in the ambulance of the Berchtesgaden Red Cross. The man pulled his shoulder out of the fall. The assignment lasted a good one and a half hours.
