The flight trap today marks about
6,000 people stranded abroad
.
And in national tourism, the threat that the provinces will close again is still present.
Even so,
in Argentina the desire to travel persists
.
But, amid so much
uncertainty about the Delta variant of the coronavirus
, the consensus is high for tools to be created that provide some peace of mind before assembling the suitcases.
Eight out of ten Argentines
would agree to apply for a
health passport
to be able to get on a plane, a bus or face the route.
Also, they don't want to wait for summer.
Three out of ten are considering
traveling in the next three months
.
If they let them.
There is consensus among travelers to implement tools that make pandemic travel safer.

The data comes from an
online survey of more than 1,100 residents in the City and Province of Buenos Aires
, carried out in July by the Institute of Social Sciences and Project Disciplines (INSOD) of UADE.
The
target
was the citizens of medium and medium-high socioeconomic level and the average age was 28 years.
Almost 8 out of 10 respondents, 77%, would partially or totally agree with the implementation of a passport or health certification to be able to travel.
Among those who assured that they were considering the possibility of making a trip in the short term, the
need for a break
was the main outstanding motivation (39% of the mentions).
They were followed by the desire to know a new place or return to an already known place (29%) and the desire to visit family and / or friends (14%).
Although responses from sectors that have some savings to invest in vacations were pointed out, the
lack of money and predictability
in terms of health restrictions were the main causes behind the decision not to travel.
Those who
denied the possibility of traveling
within the next few months (69%) identified the
lack of money
(23% of the mentions), the
lack of predictability related to sanitary restrictions
(16%) and the sanitary restrictions in force in the country (15%) as the top three reasons for not traveling.
In fourth place, with 13% of the total mentions, was
the fear of infecting the family with Covid-19
once they return home.
It should be noted that such
fear of the disease and the contagion itself
was another reason given by those surveyed for not traveling.
Thus, it was stated by 8% of those who chose their own fear of contagion as a reason for not traveling.
The main destinations chosen to travel abroad - 35% of those who plan to travel in the coming months - are the
United States (62%), Spain (10%), Italy (6%) and the United Kingdom (3%).
Regarding the interior of the country, which represents 65% of those who plan to travel in the coming months, Mendoza (16%), Río Negro (14%), Córdoba (12%) and Neuquén (11) are being considered as destinations. %).
"In Argentina tourism represents 10
% of GDP
, generates 5.4% of jobs and ranks 4th among the main exports. The results of the study show that the current context is a great opportunity for the recovery of tourism internal ", says to
Clarín
Mario Córdoba, director of the Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality of the university that carried out the surveys.
In times of more open borders, he details, "a large part of the 65% who today want to travel through the country would choose foreign destinations."
That is why it marks as a pending subject of pandemic tourism policies the possibility of "focusing the effort on promoting the much desired arrival of foreign tourists, which is neither more nor less than export, foreign exchange income, only for mention 2 of the economic consequences that tourism generates ”.
What is known about a health passport in Argentina
Green Digital Certificate or Green Pass. It is the
“COVID passport”
that came into force in the European Union (EU) and allows fully vaccinated people, who have a negative test for the virus or have recently recovered from the disease, to move within the block. Except for millions of Argentines who were vaccinated with
Sputnik V, Sinopharm and Covishield, the brands not approved in that area of the world
.
Will there be a similar passport in Argentina?
The definition is totally "green".
The provinces are managed according to the requirement or not of negative PCR and there is no advance information from the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation about what will happen in the summer season 2022. At the moment, the entry of foreigners for tourism and who Returned from abroad must be tested in Ezeiza, isolated and swabbed on the seventh day.
On July 20, Fernán Quiros, the city's Health Minister, spoke about the effectiveness of the health passport as a
tool to encourage vaccination
against the coronavirus and emphasized that "it is not yet time for this type of measure."
"In a context where all the people who wanted to be vaccinated
have been able to get vaccinated
, it seems to me that it is an instrument to evaluate its impact," he said.
Although the response was focused on the previous announcement of the Province, on the extended capacity for bars and restaurants, which could expand their capacity with clients who prove to be vaccinated, the scenario also pointed to a "preview" for the summer holidays .
And it is worth remembering that there was no such passport during the winter holidays.
"In the world, health passports are widely used to guarantee the safety of people who do social activities and to stimulate those who are still analyzing whether to get vaccinated or not to give them a greater incentive to decide and get vaccinated," he analyzed Quiros.
