Cardiologist Roger Blumenthal from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, together with colleagues from the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, revised the guidelines for the primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

With more than 340,000 deaths each year, cardiovascular diseases are by far the number one cause of death in Germany and worldwide.
