How can you save your plants?

Everything is freezing now. Was all the work in vain?
No.
If you have worked with classic spring flowers and hardy perennials, you are on the safe side.
These plants are well prepared by nature for late cold.
Mediterranean plants and seasonal plants, on the other hand, cannot tolerate temperatures below zero.
These need to be protected.
Preferably in a cool place between ten and zero degrees.
What can I do to secure the plants?
For woody plants and hardy flowering plants, it is important to protect them from the direct morning sun.
The flower is particularly sensitive after a frosty night.
So it would be advisable to protect the fruit tree, the rose or the hydrangea again with a fleece or with a wool blanket until the ghost is over.
What do I do after the snowfall? Where can I get new plants, if necessary, despite Corona?
If the plants have suffered frost damage, pruning can sometimes help.
But this only applies to hardy plants.
Experience has shown, however, that these then take longer to recover and often do not bloom until very late or in the coming season.
There are replacements in nurseries and garden centers.

How can I prepare for such late snowfall in the future?
It is important to pay attention to the weather.
The ice saints used to be an appointment, before nothing was allowed out in the garden.
Unfortunately, this rule of thumb no longer applies across the board.
Therefore, if the garden is to be tackled before the end of April, care must be taken to use hardy plants and perennials.
