District - With the persistent drought, the risk of forest fires increases.
This is indicated by fire and disaster control at the Miesbach district office and the district fire brigade management.
The forest fire risk index of the German Meteorological Service gave the Miesbach district risk levels 3 and 4 out of 5 for the next three days.
Any fire risk is prohibited from hazard level 2.
Smoking in the forest is therefore prohibited.
In addition, no campfires or Daxnfires may be kindled.
Likewise, no inflammable objects or fire-causing substances such as broken glass may be disposed of in the forest.
All this is forbidden by law anyway, say the responsible authorities.
“But common sense also requires careful and responsible treatment of nature and not endangering the forest and its inhabitants.” If a fire brigade is deployed, the polluter has to pay.
