Today, the Branch Office of the Teachers Syndicate, in cooperation with the Presidency of Damascus University, honored 200 students who excelled in the basic and secondary education certificates from the children of the faculty members and the union of teachers and administrators working at the university, during a ceremony held at the University of Damascus.

Dr. Mohsen Bilal, a member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, congratulated the outstanding students and their families and stressed that honoring encourages and motivates outstanding students to persevere and excel in their university studies to be active in society and contribute to the development and reconstruction of their country.

Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, President of Damascus University, pointed out that the outstanding students harnessed their time and effort in order to achieve excellence, and the university today shares their joy by holding an annual ceremony to honor them with the aim of encouraging them to continue their superiority as the real wealth of the country, indicating that continuing to excel requires follow-up and continued efforts in study. coming.

Al-Jabban pointed out that Damascus University will provide all its capabilities to support outstanding students, urge them to excel and create an educational environment in order to receive them in its campuses and classrooms, and provide all means of academic and intellectual support.

Dr. Saleh Al-Ayoubi, Head of the Branch Office of the Teachers Syndicate at Damascus University, pointed out the Syndicate’s keenness to hold this celebration annually to honor students and their fellow teachers’ families, because excellence is the fruit of continuous work, effort, and firm determination from students, with the care and supervision of their teachers’ relatives.

In the speech of the first students, the student, Marah Faisal Al-Omar, who obtained the General Secondary Certificate, the Scientific Branch, expressed her happiness and pride in the results of her academic achievement, and indicated that nothing is impossible with the will, determination and planning.

In a statement to the media, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, stressed the importance of honoring the sons of the distinguished faculty members and administrators who obtained the secondary certificate in all its branches and who excelled in the basic education certificate because it constitutes an incentive for students to continue their studies in higher education in various disciplines in addition to its moral impact on the outstanding students who They are the mainstay of building the nation with their families, who are considered true partners in the excellence of their children, pointing out that the Ministry encourages universities and their affiliates to establish such activities to honor outstanding students.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Dr. Khaled al-Halbouni, Secretary of the Damascus University branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, members of the branch leadership, the assistant minister of higher education and scientific research, the deputies of Damascus University, deans of faculties, a number of university hospital directors, a crowd of university professors and the families of honored students.
