Hospital presses on the start phase

An injury miserable hit the SE Freising on the mind - in the beginning of the new season, of all things, important players are missing.

- It will be a tough initial phase for the footballers of SE Freising in the Landesliga Südost, you could already guess that in the run-up to the season.

The upheaval in the squad takes time, and coach Alex Plabst will still not be available for important players before the next league game on Friday evening in the Savoyer Au against TSV Grünwald (7.30 p.m.).

We take a look at the Eintracht permanent hospital.

Andreas Hohlenburger

The Goalgetter and Mister Torgefahr is eagerly awaited back.

While Freising's offensive leader was hardly able to play a game in the Corona epidemic year, the pubic bone injury seemed to have cured at the start of training.

Hohlenburger was full of energy.

But then it turned out that the suffering was mainly from hip problems.

Hohlenburger now has that under control, is training again and could soon be in the squad.

"When, he decides for himself", Plabst gives his parade attacker complete freedom.

Hohlenburger's goals and especially his presence would do the SEF more than good.

Sebastian Thalhammer

Sebi Thalhammer made some appearances in preparation - but she was in goal when the SEF had no regular goalkeeper available.

Otherwise, it is in the stars when and if the 26-year-old will be able to intervene again.

Thalhammer underwent two knee operations last winter and some cartilage caused problems.

Freising's defensive midfielder can now train again, "but he's actually irreplaceable for us," said Plabst in mourning after his player.

"We can count on him at the end of the preliminary round at the earliest."

Vitus Kirchberger

There are actors who play calmly and you only notice them when they are no longer there.

One of those is Vitus Kirchberger, who is missing the lark fields in the defensive back four and in the game opening at every nook and cranny.

And even with Kirchberger it is unclear when he will return.

The back has been refusing to work for months, and Kirchberger has been to many specialists.

"With him too," Plabst has bad news, "it will be a long time before he can return."

Flo Schmuckermeier

The hospital got a new member last weekend when Captain Flo Schmuckermeier, something like Freising's unlucky fellow, had to be replaced.

At first it didn't look good, but now it's clear that nothing is broken in the knee.

"Flo still has to cure a bruise," explains Plabst, "but then he should return soon." Important for the SEF, because Schmuckermeier's ball safety and experience are good for the Freisingers.

Maximilian Oswald

At the last minute, coach Alex Plabst secured a second goalkeeper with Maxi Oswald, because substitute Boris Hrvacanin was only available to a limited extent and Patrick Negele was also ailing in the meantime. But now Oswald falls out injured with a torn outer ligament. It will still take three to four weeks, "as a goalkeeper he might be able to start again a little earlier," said Plabst.
