How to survive a weekend of excess

2022-08-15T06:28:40.525Z

The main activity of your last weekend? To eat. Nothing serious, but still follow the protocol to digest all that.

You had a great weekend based on raclette, red wine, pastries, Italian restaurant and aperitif.

You are still salivating at the start of the week.

Only downside: to take on such a food orgy.

The key is to put your body at rest, as dietitian-nutritionist and sports coach Jacques Géraud explains.

Drink hot or cold

You who have a weakness for Mouton-Cadet, know "that a glass of alcohol is equivalent to one liter less water in the body", as the professional specifies.

So after your two days of excess, start by betting on hydration.

"In the morning, on an empty stomach, drink lemon juice, mixed with lukewarm water with a little grated natural ginger. It's ideal for burning toxins," advises Jacques Géraud.

For the rest of the day, there is no secret, you have to drink a lot.

"Betting on green tea is a good idea. It has a draining and detoxifying effect on the body", specifies the dietitian-nutritionist.

Vegetable juices can also be interesting for the body: "preparing with your juice extractor, a mixture of celery, green apple, parsley and a few fresh mint leaves will perk up the body well. The liver is detoxified thanks to the digestive virtues of ingredients", explains Jacques Géraud.

Eating differently and listening to each other

Even if you're bloated, that's no reason not to eat.

“It is important not to starve yourself by skipping meals or fasting. Three meals a day are always appropriate,” warns the expert.

The challenge is simply to eat differently: "You have to remove fast sugars and white cereals from your plate. They raise blood sugar levels, which requires a lot of energy from the body to regulate this. does not agree with the desire to put his body to rest", notes the professional.

Ok, but what to eat?

Foods that are easy to digest so as not to put too much strain on the pancreas and the liver.

"Lean proteins, such as cod or white poultry, are very good. All accompanied by raw vegetables or steamed vegetables. You can adopt this diet for a few days", suggests the dietitian-nutritionist.

In terms of quantity, nothing to worry about: "there is no question of reducing the portions. You have to listen to your appetite", recommends Jacques Géraud.

Move and sweat

Admittedly, it is difficult to extract oneself from its total look in fluff after a weekend of excess, however, the game is worth the candle.

"The ideal is to go for a walk for an hour after a rich meal. Just to get oxygen and promote digestion afterwards", recommends the expert.

For the rest, you must continue to put on your jogging two to three times a week.

"It is essential to play sports, because certain toxins are eliminated by perspiration. And practicing an activity contributes to the good balance of the body, a little lost during this famous weekend", insists Jacques Géraud.

The most important thing is that dietary differences are occasional.

“Having fun from time to time is not a big deal. It is simply a question of finding a balance”, concludes the dietician-nutritionist.
