The convener of the democratic party meeting and the chairman of the Democratic Party, Hu Zhiwei, said in an interview with a radio program today (30th) that the current situation is that the government uses the Greater Bay Area voting method to reverse the local election system, while the democrats want to prevent the government from doing what it wants to do. Go straight ahead, and even if the bill has not been deliberated, the democrats must be prepared.
But Hu Zhiwei admitted that the democrats are currently in a weak position and there are few tools available. He pointed out that the democrats will continue to actively speak on different bills. However, he emphasized that the voting results of the bill itself will not be affected by the speeches of members. He hopes that the public will understand the democrats. Xie Weijun said that the current pro-democracy party’s delay on every item of the Legislative Council has prevented the government from doing anything, and the motions that benefit Hong Kong’s economy and people’s livelihood have also been delayed. Hu Zhiwei reiterated that if the Legislative Council elections are held as scheduled, the matter can be handed over to the new colleague, and only when the numbers of the two camps return to the same ratio can the situation be reversed.

Hu Zhiwei also criticized that Liang Junyan, as the chairman of the Legislative Council, used limited time debates to restrict members' right to speak, which was "the ball goes to the ground to kick the ball." Hu Zhiwei also believes that Liang used to make limited-time comments on important bills. Now even the irrelevant bills have to be involved in the debate time. This move will only make the battle between the two sides even more intense.
The Chairman of the Legislative Council Committee on Rules of Procedure, Xie Weijun, said in an interview on the same program that the current democrats have delayed every issue of the Legislative Council, making it impossible for the government to do anything, and delaying motions that benefit Hong Kong’s economy and people’s livelihood. He believed that Liang Junyan has the right to control the scene , So that the meeting was conducted properly and effectively, and that Liang Junyan was forced to maintain the scene.
Xie Weijun admits that he hopes that the social atmosphere will improve, and the two camps will have room for improvement. However, if one party does everything they can to procrastinate, the chairman must also maintain the operation of the Parliament in accordance with the Basic Law.
Xie Weijun also stated that it cannot be assumed that allowing Hong Kong people living in the Greater Bay Area to vote is beneficial to the establishment, saying that many radicals are immigrants from the Greater Bay Area or Guangdong Province.
He reiterated that this proposal is to maintain the voting rights of millions of Hong Kong people who do not live in Hong Kong. Similar arrangements exist in foreign countries.
In this regard, the democrats are "nothing to do if they want to commit crimes." They are looking for reasons to spread and destroy, and criticize the democrats for "always have reasons to speculate."
When asked why the ticketing station was only set up in the Greater Bay Area, Xie Weijun pointed out that most of the residents who are not in Hong Kong live in the Greater Bay Area and that these residents must be taken care of first. He also said that "in principle, one step must be taken."
