Polish Independence Day celebrations became a neo-Nazi spectacle - as hundreds of protesters marched in front of the cameras, chanting antisemitic chants.
In the incident, which took place two days ago, the marchers even burned a copy of Kalisz's Bill of Rights, which in the 13th century guaranteed the rights of Jews in Poland.
Police in Poland have opened an investigation into the incident, and churches in the country have made it clear that "for years Kalisz was a city of religions and cultures that lived together, respected and enriched each other. This heritage is important to us to this day and is the foundation on which we build good relations."

"The horrific antisemitic incident in Poland reminds all the Jews of the world of the intensity of the hatred and the danger that lies in the world, if it is not sharply and uncompromisingly cut short," wrote Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
"The unequivocal condemnation of Polish elements is important and necessary. I welcome that and expect the Polish government to take a tough hand against the people who took part in this shocking hate show."
