After several previews, Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the 'aerodynamic and timeless' design of Ioniq 6, the second model of the Koran brand dedicated exclusively to the electric range.

Inspired by the Prophecy EV concept, Ioniq 6 features clean, simple lines and a pure aerodynamic shape that Hyundai designers call 'Emotional Efficiency'.

Ioniq 6's 'electrified aerodynamics' theme and cocoon-like protective and indulgent interiors form a 'tailor-made' silhouette for the new era of electric mobility.

"Ioniq 6 shows an emotional convergence between functionality and aesthetics - said SangYup Lee executive vice president and head of Hyundai Design Center - the distinctive streamline design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with an almost obsessive attention to detail. and placing customer values at the center. We have created Ioniq 6 as a welcoming environment designed for people, capable of offering everyone a pleasant and personalized space ".

The silhouette marked by maximum aerodynamic efficiency offers simple but sensual curves, taking what is one of the newest 'roads' in the era of electric mobility.

Ioniq 6 has a very low drag coefficient (just 0.21) which was achieved with the low front, with the active air deflectors in the front, with the reduced wheel arches and with - if present as an option - with the thin mirrors - side camera.

Further contributing to the Ioniq 6's distinctive air-slitting attitude are the elliptical wing-inspired spoiler with an aerodynamic appendage, the lightweight rear structure that resembles the tail of a boat and the side air intakes integrated into the rear bumper.

Even under the car, the effort to achieve better 'smoothness' in the air (thanks to the reduction of turbulence) is evident in the complete closure of the underbody, in the optimized deflectors and in the reduction of wheel arch space.

The cocoon-effect interiors define a particularly refined personal space on wheels, which was obtained using Hyundai Motor Group's Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) as the basis for the Ioniq 6.

The designers were able to lengthen the cabin, front and rear, to create optimized legroom and a layout that ensures passenger comfort.

The E-GMP platform also allows for a completely flat floor, which offers an even greater feeling of airiness and breadth.

The human-centered interior architecture is well represented by an ergonomically designed and centrally located control unit to reduce distractions and promote safe and intuitive driving.

The modular dashboard with touchscreen integrates a 12.3-inch full-touch display for infotainment and a 12.3-inch digital cluster.

The bridge center console also offers a comfortable and generous storage compartment inside the car.

Seats and cabin panels use sustainable materials and treatments.

Depending on the trim, these may include ecologically treated leather (seats), recycled PET fabric (seats), TPO ecologically treated leather (dashboard), bio PET fabric (headliner),

The world premiere of the Ioniq 6 will take place in July, when Hyundai will reveal all the features, technical specifications and advanced technologies of the Electrified Streamliner.
