Many residents from all over the country reported power outages on the night between Thursday and Friday.

The electricity company confirmed the reports, and declared last night that the supply will gradually return to all customers.

"Tonight, due to a passing incident in the transmission network in the south of the country, the activity of a private power plant in Beer Tuvia was stopped," the IEC said this morning.

"In a chain reaction, production units at the Dalia (private) power plants and in the IEC carrot unit were stopped. It is unequivocally not a cyber incident," it was clarified.

We have a feeling that you did not like the term "load shedding" (not everyone together please) We received interesting suggestions that we may adopt..and if we get serious for a moment, apologize very much for the inconvenience.

Attach a short explanation of what is "the thing that should not be named", we will look for another name, we will be happy for suggestions https://t.co/PMQ1HLRzGN

"As in any unusual event, the IEC is investigating the case and will conduct an investigation. We will note that the system recovered quickly, and within about 40 minutes the power supply returned to normal."

The electricity company added: "As a rule, the electrical system in an automatic response of protection makes initiated interruptions - load shedding - in order to prevent wider interruptions. When it stabilizes, backup units enter those that have fallen - and so it was this time."

Load shedding occurs when there is a sudden malfunction in the production system or in the power transmission network, and it impairs the sensitive balance and causes an automatic response of the protection systems.

These work to prevent the collapse of the production system to the point of regional or national darkness.

When the protection system automatically shuts off the power supply, it is a state of load shedding.
