For the first time in its history, Iffeldorf has more than 3,000 inhabitants if you count the second homes.

Mayor Hans Lang (SPD) named the number in the town meeting on Friday evening.

There he also gave an outlook on the future.

Iffeldorf - After a two-year corona-related break, there was a citizens' meeting in Iffeldorf for the first time on Friday evening. It was a first for Hans Lang as first mayor. Just over 50 listeners came to hear his report of the past two years and his outlook. He mentioned a number right at the beginning: For the first time, Iffeldorf had more than 3,000 inhabitants, including secondary residences: 2,759 people with a main residence and 250 with a secondary residence.

Lang announced that the Iffeldorfer building land model is currently being adapted.

As reported, there were already deliberations in the municipal council.

The municipality wants to secure more building land than before for families or senior-friendly housing when private land becomes building land.

Lang said that the standard land value for building land in Iffeldorf had risen from 390 to 1000 euros within seven years.

You have to react, says Lang.

Building land model is to take effect for the first time at “Faltergatter II”

According to him, the new building land model could take effect for the first time south of the Faltergatter residential area. Lang announced that a development plan “Faltergatter II” would be tackled in the near future. The last time there were considerations was in March 2019. According to Lang, however, there were 140 signatures against a new development plan because of the very high groundwater levels. In this context, he spoke of a new report that could be extended to Alpenstrasse, Benediktenwandstrasse, Herzogstandstrasse and other roads. But this must be decided by the municipal council.

Lang also announced that the community wanted to start a heavy rain management.

“We also have problems with flooding,” he said and showed pictures from this summer of flooded streets, for example Hofmark and Faltergatter.

The experts agree that the heavy rain events will be stronger, said the mayor.

Cycle path plans between Iffeldorf and Seeshaupt

According to Lang, discussions were also held with the state building authority about a cycle path that will connect Iffeldorf and Seeshaupt. From the Iffeldorfer side, the connection from the peat plant is difficult. In any case, the state building authority did not decline. One can now begin with the first considerations. As reported, the cycle path to Antdorf is finished - except for one gap. Lang replied to a question from Christian Gleixner that it should be closed in spring 2022 when the sand lizards there have relocated. According to him, a concept for the Hofmark will soon be a topic in the local council. There is a lot of rolling and parking traffic, the school and the community center in Hofmark. “It's our living room,” says Lang. “But cyclists have very bad cards”. He therefore contacted a planning office.

In 2022, wastewater and drinking water charges will be recalculated

The mayor also announced that there will be a recalculation of sewage and drinking water charges in 2022 - this happens every four years.

Kämmerer Stefan Jocher named figures for the parking fees on the community hiking car parks, which were increased this year.

Income rose from around 100,000 euros (2020) to around 125,000 euros (2021).

Jocher also said that the community is expected to collect 1.9 million euros in business tax this year, instead of the conservatively calculated approach of 1.35 million euros in the budget.

Iffeldorf, according to Jocher, is the fifth most financially strong municipality in the district.

It is one of the ten percent of the financially strongest municipalities in Bavaria.
