"Never as today - Fabrice Collier, president of Snfc, a union that brings together Normandy Camembert producers, told the French daily - Italian culinary specialties have been appreciated all over the world, in particular, in France. For the first time in France, the camembert sales curve, which is regularly decreasing by 3% per year, has fallen below the sales of mozzarella which, for its part, is experiencing an annual growth of 5% ". From the beginning of the year until last September, 29,230 tons of Camembert were sold in France against 33,170 tons of mozzarella. Finally, "Le Figaro" underlines that "Camembert is eaten in restaurants or during more traditional home-cooked meals, while mozzarella is good in many easy-to-make and more trendy dishes".
