Over the past three months, nearly 5,200 people have been lost in secondary schools; 345 people have been lost in primary schools.

If divided by region, the public sector primary and secondary schools in Sha Tin District lost the most students, with more than 1,020 people; followed by Kowloon City District, with 910 people.

Kowloon City District Guanjin Primary and Secondary School Lost 900 Students in Three Months

According to the latest public sector school vacancy situation of the Education Bureau, in October of this school year, there were 39,000 vacant places in the public sector from Secondary 2 to 6. After subtracting the number of students, the remaining places are 5,200, in other words, 5,200 students will be lost in the new school year.

Among them, the Kowloon City District lost the most students, with about 600, followed by Sha Tin and Tuen Mun, with more than 490 and 450 students leaving the public sector secondary school system respectively.

As for primary schools, from July to October, all public-sector primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong lost 345 students. By region, Sha Tin District lost the most students, about 530; followed by Kowloon City District and North District, with about 300 and 200 losses respectively. .
