Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) only warned on Monday not to loosen the mask requirement too quickly.
Although it could soon fall outside, nothing should be rushed: "There is only more security if everyone present is either vaccinated or regularly tested," says Spahn.
Now individual federal states are still rushing ahead.
In view of the continuing decline in the number of infections, many Prime Ministers are withdrawing more and more Corona restrictions - in particular, the obligation to wear a mask outdoors is being lifted.
Mask requirements for schools are also being relaxed further.
Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania even want to reopen clubs.
These corona rules currently apply per federal state:
BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG:
There is no mask requirement at schools if the seven-day incidence in a region is below 35 and there was no corona outbreak at the school in question for two weeks. If the incidence is below 50, the mask can be removed in the school yards. Health Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) also promised easing the mask requirement for other everyday areas - for example, soon at open, well-ventilated train stations and bus stops.
BAVARIA:
In Bavaria, schoolchildren will be allowed to take off their masks at least in the school yard and on hiking days, as the State Chancellery in Munich announced. However, the state chancellery chief Florian Herrmann said after the cabinet meeting that one is not yet ready to abolish the mask requirement at the seat in class.
BERLIN:
The mask requirement on the sidewalks of shopping streets, in very busy places and outdoors in the zoo and animal park has been lifted. FFP2 masks must still be worn on buses and trains. In Berlin schools, however, the obligation to wear a medical mask indoors also applies in the first two weeks after the summer vacation, said a spokesman for the education administration. The goal should be to stop chains of infection that started during the holidays. It is then planned to lift the mask requirement if the infection rate allows.
BRANDENBURG:
The mask requirement in elementary schools and after-school care centers will be abolished. In addition, according to rbb information for open-air events and outdoor catering, the obligation to test should be dropped. There could also be further easing in counties with a seven-day incidence below 20. The "Bild" newspaper reported, citing the draft of the new Corona handling ordinance, that clubs and other dance halls in Brandenburg are also allowed to reopen. How many guests would be allowed inside depends on the size of the room. Tests would no longer be required if the incidence was below 20. The same applies to schools, cinemas, pubs and sports. The mask requirement only applies where "it is not possible to keep the distance requirement in closed rooms."
BREMEN:
It is no longer necessary to wear a mask outdoors - except at public transport stops and in the outdoor areas of sales outlets, for example in the parking lot in front of the hardware store, and indoors.
In addition, there is no obligation to test when using interior spaces in restaurants or in theaters and cinemas.
HAMBURG:
From the weekend, mouth and nose protection only has to be worn outdoors in places where it is particularly tight, as a Senate spokesman announced.
The mask requirement should, however, continue to apply to weekly markets.
And masks should continue to be worn wherever it is particularly tight - the Senate spokesman named Mönckebergstrasse as an example when there was a lot of crowds.
In Hamburg, the mask requirement remains indoors.
HESSEN:
Despite the good corona development, there is no end of the mask requirement in Hesse in sight. This was announced by the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration. "The federal emergency brake applies, like the current Hessian regulation, until the end of June 2021," says the ministry. In Frankfurt, however, since Saturday there has only been a mask requirement at stops and in the interior.
MECKLENBURG-VORPOMMERN:
The obligation to wear mouth and nose protection outdoors is to be largely abolished in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the coming week. This was announced by Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD). In addition, there will be a new traffic light system, based on which further corona measures or easing will be derived. According to Schwesig, it not only takes into account the seven-day incidence, but also, for example, the hospital occupancy rate with Covid 19 patients.
LOWER SAXONY
:
Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) wants to adhere to the mask requirement for the time being. Weil had emphasized on Sunday that the corona virus was still in the world and that one should not do without wearing masks, especially with regard to the virus mutations. Masks could be placed outdoors, but not indoors, the Prime Minister continued.
NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA:
In local public transport there is no longer any obligation to wear an FFP2 or KN95 mask. Instead, a so-called surgical mask is sufficient. The pupils in North Rhine-Westphalia, however, still have to wear masks in class - even in elementary schools. It will stay that way, at least in the classrooms. Because “school attendance is not voluntary, but compulsory”, different standards must be applied than in other areas of public life, according to School Minister Yvonne Gebauer (FDP).
RHEINLAND-PALATINATE:
In Rhineland-Palatinate, it is no longer necessary to wear a mask in class from next Monday.
"As of Monday, all age groups will no longer have to wear a mask at the seat and in the school yard as long as the incidence is below 35," said Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) in Mainz.
Teachers are allowed to teach without a mask.
SAARLAND:
From Thursday, students no longer have to wear a mask in class.
In the school building and on the way to school when using local public transport, however, the obligation to wear a mask remains.
On the outside of schools there has been no mask requirement since June 11th.
SAXONY: In
the Free State, the mask requirement remains for the time being - it applies, among other things, in public spaces in places where no minimum distance can be observed.
With incidence values above 35, a test is also mandatory in rural districts, including in business, when visiting care facilities and restaurants.
SACHSEN-ANHALT:
Saxony-Anhalt decided on Tuesday to convert the previously applicable contact restrictions into contact recommendations.
When shopping and on public transport, a surgical mask will also be sufficient in the future, it no longer has to be an FFP2 mask.
And in schools, pupils should only wear mouth and nose protection in the hallway.
SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN:
In Schleswig-Holstein, customers no longer have to wear a mask in front of retail stores and in parking lots since Monday.
However, pupils must continue to wear mouth and nose protection - at the request of the Ministry of Education, even in the two weeks after the summer vacation.
This buffer is intended to help prevent possible infections from the holiday season from being carried over to school.
THURINGIA:
No easing is in sight in the Free State.
Health Minister Heike Werner (left) warned against rash reactions.
It is wrong "to throw all protective measures overboard now, before everyone who wants to have received full vaccination protection."
According to the latest survey by the Robert Koch Institute, most districts in Germany are now at a seven-day incidence of 20 or less, and some at 0. The number of new infections across Germany was given on Tuesday as 652.

According to RKI data, 22.3 million people in Germany are now fully vaccinated.
That is more than a quarter of the total population.
Almost 40.5 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine.
