Barcelona's young and talented midfielder, Federry, has signed a new contract until 2026 when his release clause will reach over a billion euros, a new record, the Catalan club have confirmed.
Federy's previous contract was due to end at the end of the season, and once the transfer window closed in the summer, Barça made his future a priority.
The international's release clause has doubled and jumped more than 400 million euros to a billion euros to set a new club record.
Antoine Griezmann's contract, signed in 2019, included a purchase option of 800 million euros, which was the previous record, when Leo Messi's clause reached 700 million euros during his time at Camp Nou.
Pedri, who will turn 19 on November, has enjoyed a significant rise in his ability in the last 14 months since joining Barça from Palmas in 2020 for around € 5 million, not including bonuses.
In his first season at Barcelona he recorded 52 appearances and became a regular car player in midfield alongside Sergio Busquets and Frankie de Jong.
His performances have also earned him international recognition.
Spain coach Luis Enrique invited him to the senior team for the first time in March 2021 and he was also called up to the squad for Euro 2020, when Spain was eliminated in the semi-finals by the champions - Italy.
He was also part of the Olympic team that traveled to Japan for the Olympics, winning a silver medal after a loss in extra time to Brazil in the final.
Meanwhile, it seems that in the coming weeks, Enso Patti, Gabi and Ronald Araujo will also sign new contracts at Blaugrana.
