The future of the specialization, the nature of its courses, the level of difficulty, and the job opportunities of its graduates were the most frequently asked students’ inquiries on the third day of the “Your Eye is Your Specialization” exhibition, which is organized by the National Union of Syrian Students in cooperation with the Syrian Trust for Development in Universities in conjunction with the acceptance of applications for trade-offs.
The third day witnessed interactive and dialogue meetings between the high school graduates, the deans of the faculties and the graduate students. Simple answers from those concerned can change the fate and future of the student, according to Dr. Oqba Fakush, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Damascus University, who gave a presentation to the students about the future of studying in the college and its difficulty and requirements. According to SANA, it is the college's second participation in the exhibition, and it is one of the activities approved by many universities around the world.
From the Faculty of Medicine’s pavilion, Dr. Youssef Tabarnin, a postgraduate student, stated that their role is to introduce students to the university journey that they will take in the college and the difficulties they may face, to clarify some of the points that revolve in their minds and to dispel their fears and concerns, indicating that the students’ questions focused on the specializations in the college and the duration of study in Each has its own future.
From the College of Health Sciences’ pavilion, Yomna Abu Jeeb, a speech and language assessment student, pointed out to focus on introducing students to the three new specializations that will be launched at the beginning of the next academic year, namely, clinical psychology, prosthetics, orthotics, diagnosis and radiotherapy.
Yaman Al-Maidani from the Institute of Technology Pavilion pointed out that all the students' inquiries focus on the possibility of continuing their educational attainment in faculties of similar specializations if they were among the first.
And from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Damascus University, Reham Hassan, a doctoral student and teaching assistant at the faculty, said: We focus on introducing the departments in the faculty, especially the departments that are not known to students, such as the languages departments, the future of study in them, and job opportunities, noting that most students’ inquiries were about the decisions of each specialty and areas Work either inside or outside the country.
A number of high school graduates considered the exhibition as an opportunity to get acquainted comprehensively with the academic branches in universities or institutes and to form a pre-conceived perception before registering their desires in the differentiation form. The student Omar Al-Hujairi said that he obtained a total that qualifies him to register in the preparatory year. Those concerned in the exhibition encouraged him to: Study this specialty.
The two students, Ghadeer Al-Khaled and Batool Al-Mubarak, pointed out that they would like to study in technical institutes, and that the exhibition provided them with appropriate information about the specializations in them, which encouraged them more to study in them and change their preconceived notions about them.
The “Your Eyes on Your Specialization” exhibitions will continue until the sixteenth of this September and receive students daily from ten in the morning until three in the afternoon in all universities and their branches.
