Israel and the United States have held a round of strategic talks on Iran

Israel and the United States held another round of strategic talks on Iran today (Wednesday).

The meeting took place in a secure video conference call.

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who led the U.S. delegation, said during the talks that the United States is committed to diplomacy as the best way to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, but added that the United States is preparing alternative options in coordination with its partnership in case diplomacy fails.

The White House said that during the meeting between the Israeli team and the American team, the parties discussed joint military exercises in the near future.

The White House statement did not say whether the exercises were targeted at Iran, but before Secretary of Defense Gantz's recent visit to Washington, the U.S. Department of Defense leaked that Secretary of Defense Austin intends to discuss with Danz joint military exercises against Iran.
