The torch at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo will go out this (Sunday) afternoon, and with it will come the emptiness after the games close.

For five years the world waited for the arrival of the Corona Olympics, which was gloomier and sadder than its predecessors due to traffic constraints, lack of crowds in the stands and the lack of tourists from all over the world, but quite a few athletes finished it happily.

• The U.S. is the big winner of the Olympics, with no brackets and no asterisks. It is the only one to have won three triple-digit medals (113), and in the last day also climbed to the top of the official rankings - decided by gold medals. -33 bronze; she overtook China, which finished with 38 gold, 32 silver and 18 bronze (88 in total) and had to settle for second place.

• This is the third consecutive win for the United States at the top of the medal rankings, and the sixth at seven Olympics. Its only "fall" occurred in 2008, when China won first place at the home games in Beijing.

• Israel is ranked 39th in the Tokyo medal rankings, with two gold and two bronze (along with Ireland).

  In total, the Israeli delegation won four medals, and is number 47 in this ranking.

• In the all-time medal rankings, Israel climbed from 90th place to 81st place, and now holds 13 medals: three gold, one silver and nine bronze.

• Four medals are a record number for the Israeli delegation, which has never before been able to win more than two at the same Olympics.

  The 39th place in the table is also the highest in the history of the country.

  Previously, it was ranked 48 in Barcelona 1992, 52 in Athens 2004, 71 in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000, 77 in Rio 2016 and 82 in Beijing 2008.
