Households' propensity to save was 9.3%, a decrease of 2.3 percentage points compared to the previous quarter.
Against a 1.5% increase in the implicit household final consumption deflator, household
purchasing power decreased slightly
compared to the previous quarter (-0.1%).

This was highlighted by Istat in its quarterly note on the PA accounts, underlining that "The purchasing power of households recorded a slight decline despite the negative impact of the increase in prices. The household saving rate decreased by 2, 3 percentage points, however, still standing at higher levels than in the pre-pandemic period ".
Deficit / GDP falls to 3.1% in the second quarter of 2022
"In the second quarter of the year, the debt of government or public administrations on GDP fell markedly in trend terms, continuing its improvement path that began in the first quarter".
This was stated by Istat, highlighting that in the second quarter of 2022 net debt in relation to GDP was -3.1% (-7.6% in the same quarter of 2021).
