The title of "designated finance minister" was invented by MK Nir Barkat last year. Barkat boasted about the title for about a month and a half, but after Elections, when a government was formed, Israel Katz was appointed finance minister and he remained a simple MK with the empty promise of the former nominee. Yesterday the current heir to the title was crowned. The change coalition's first coalition agreement places Avigdor Lieberman as finance minister, perhaps the strongest in the country's history - because Yisrael Beiteinu also took over the chairmanship of the finance committee. Lieberman will hold the title of finance minister for at least the next week, at the end of which the change government may collapse - at least like Netanyahu's false promises.

Lieberman is not alone.

All the leaders of the parties and senior members of the bloc that oppose Netanyahu have received or will receive in the coming days one or another prestigious placement in the government of change.

From the beginning of the week, Bish Atid reports at least twice a day on agreements with Blue and White, Labor and Meretz, and by the end they strive to reach agreements with all of them and thus put pressure on the right side - a new hope and especially Naftali Bennett's right - to reach the negotiating table. .

The other parties in the bloc of change are flowing with Lapid's negotiations out of politeness, but few believe that he will eventually lead to the Promised Land. Bennett, the missing squad, has not spoken to Lapid for nearly two weeks since announcing the cessation of talks due to the fighting in Gaza and internal party pressures. Even if he returns at the last minute, it is unclear which faction he will come with, ie how the Ayelet Shaked problem will be solved. And Gideon Saar sees eye to eye with the division of power within the right-wing bloc.

The support of RAAM and Mansour Abbas, which is necessary for the formation of a unity / minority government, is still in question. Even if there are those who consider them, it will only happen at the very last moment.

In the absence of a government, negotiations between Netanyahu and Bennett are focused on the armor that the right-wingers will receive in the Likud ahead of the fifth election, and it, meanwhile, is faltering, while internal opposition to the Likud is growing. Lapid's and fortify himself before the transfer of the seat to the Knesset with a large bloc that will finally thwart any possibility of another government. Bennett is still procrastinating. In the future, Bish Atid began promoting a bill for the early dissolution of the Knesset this week, which could shorten the 21-day period and cut off the other scenarios, as they all lead in one way or another to the government with the Likud and Netanyahu.

This is a move that is primarily intended to stress Bennett, and make the threat of elections a reality, but he does not necessarily have a majority, unless Balfour decides in a surprising sharing of interests that they also want to shorten proceedings.

Thus, between the prosecution of the nominees and the markers of the defectors, the least imaginative scenario still seems like a fifth choice.
