Italy qualified for the round of 16 of Euro 2020, with one round to spare, thanks to the victory over Switzerland.
The Azzurri, currently with full points, will pass the round as group A winners or as runners-up.
The decisive factor in assigning the lead in the group will be Sunday's match against Wales, which follows the Azzurri, leading with six points, two points behind. If Bale and his associates succeed in Rome, Wales will be in first place, otherwise Italy will close at the top. At this point in the round of 16 and then even later (if the European adventure continues), due to the intersections of the board, Italy will never find a national team until the eventual final on 11 July in London. of group D, that of England, Scotland, the Czech Republic and Croatia.
For the rest, in case of first place, the Azzurri will face the second classified in Group C, on June 26th at 9 pm at Wembley. The teams that are part of this group are the Netherlands (in the second round as before) Austria, Ukraine and North Macedonia.
If Italy were to finish second, they would face another second, that of Group B with Belgium (already qualified as first), Finland, Denmark and Russia, again on June 26 (6 pm) at the Johann Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam.
