The press team of the former interim president of Bolivia, Jeanine Áñez, denounced this Monday alleged delays in the entry permits for the ex-president's medical team to the prison where she is detained.
In a statement published on Áñez's social networks, it was explained that during the morning of Monday he suffered "a decompensation in his state of health."
The text indicates that the prison doctor contacted Áñez's general practitioner "to inform him that she had a temperature above 40 degrees."
They add that "immediately" a written request for authorization was submitted so that their doctor and laboratory personnel could enter.
"At the request, the governor of the prison requested the report of the doctor from the same prison, who transmitted a feverish picture of the ex-president," they reported.
"Unfortunately, and despite the urgency, the admission of his doctor was not authorized during the morning."
"During the last days, there has been a delay in the requests for admission of specialist doctors and laboratory equipment, which continues to harm their already delicate state of health," the statement explained.
The doctor would have received permission to enter at 3 PM, local time, and laboratory personnel could enter this Tuesday at 9 AM
CNN is trying to contact the General Directorate of Prison Regime to obtain comment on the complaint from the team of the former interim president.

Last Friday, in an interview with La Razón Radio, the national director of the Penitentiary Regime, Juan Carlos Limpias, pointed out that Áñez remains in a "health space" separated from the rest of the population of the Miraflores women's prison, in a sector "Totally safe and in optimal conditions". He added that the family has been allowed daily visits in which they bring them food because, according to Limpias, Añez refuses to eat food from the prison for fear that "something illegal will be committed."
The doctor from Áñez, according to the statement, pointed out that, after reviewing the ex-president, he “finds himself with a picture of hyperventilation, feverish syndrome and acute pain in the stomach, which could be caused by a kidney complication or another, which in all case should be ruled out with the requested medical auxiliary analyzes, to determine an accurate diagnosis ”. These exams "are of an urgent nature" and would have to be "carried out on the day", which "was not possible due to the refusal of the prison government."
Áñez is being held in preventive detention while she is being investigated for the crimes of sedition, terrorism and conspiracy, in the case of the alleged “coup” carried out by the Bolivian Prosecutor's Office.
On March 13, she was arrested in the city of Trinidad, in the department of Beni, and transferred to La Paz by the Attorney General's Office and the Bolivian Police for investigation.
A day later, the justice determined his preventive detention for 6 months, while the investigation lasted.
At the time, Áñez affirmed that such a coup "never" occurred and denounced a political persecution against him.
