The first European genealogy site, Geneanet offers to find out if your family is related to one of the French Olympic gold medalists since 1896. We have tried the experiment.

They are called Clarisse Agbegnenou (judo), Romain Cannone (sword), Jean Quiquampoix (pistol), Erwann Le Péchoux (foil), Hugo Boucheron (rowing) or Steven Da Costa (karate) and they contributed to writing in Tokyo these last fifteen days the legend of the French Olympism by climbing on the highest step of the podium. Without knowing it, these gods of the stadium who made you vibrate in front of your screen these last days are perhaps part, near or very (far) to your family. The blood of an Olympic champion may even be flowing through your veins as you read these lines. Without having recourse to genetic tests which are currently very fashionable but still prohibited in France and thanks to the colossal databases collected in recent years by genealogy sites, it is now possible to know whetheryou are related to these great personalities.
