After being operated on, the journalist Jorge Lanata (60) is evolving favorably and remains hospitalized for observation at the
Favaloro Hospital
, according to a new medical report released by the medical center at noon this Wednesday.
"The Favaloro Foundation University Hospital informs that Mr. Jorge Ernesto Lanata is
progressing satisfactorily
after the laparoscopic surgical procedure that was performed on Monday, August 30," can be read in the brief statement.
"He will
remain hospitalized
for
the next few hours
for an adequate evolutionary control, planning his discharge soon," adds the document, which bears the signatures of doctors Pablo Raffaele and Matías Fosco.
Although the operation to which Lanata was subjected was this Monday, it only transpired on Tuesday morning, with the news of the
successful result
.
Meanwhile, from the journalist's environment, they had explained to
Clarín
that the scheduled intervention "went well" and that it was a low complexity procedure.

In May, the host of El Trece and radio Miter
spent a week hospitalized in Miami
, where he had traveled with his girlfriend, the lawyer Elba Marcovecchio, to film a documentary and get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Then, he was referred to the prestigious
Mount Sinai Medical Center
in that city of Florida, where it was determined that he had a
urinary infection

Fortunately, the doctors decided that his condition was not serious.
However, they arranged for him to stay for a week under observation due to his
complicated
health
history
.
It is that, two months before traveling to the city of Miami, Lanata had been operated on for a
cardiac arrhythmia and arterial disease
.
That intervention was carried out at the Favaloro Foundation, where he underwent angioplasty on his left leg "and subsequent revascularization due to his
peripheral arterial disease
."
One day after being operated, the host of Journalism for all (El Trece, Sundays at 10 pm) received the
medical discharge
to continue with "his treatment at home."
"It was kind of complicated, but now I'm fine.
I've survived once more
. I have some pending studies, but I'm fine," he said at that time.

The renowned journalist
went through several hospitalizations in recent years
.
In August 2020, for example, he was operated, also at the Favaloro Foundation, for a boil.
It was a
"scheduled laparoscopic surgical procedure"

In 2019, meanwhile, he was hospitalized for 11 days due to a picture of
gastroenteritis

And weeks later, he suffered from diabetic neuropathy.
The journalist's most important surgical intervention was in 2015, when he
received a kidney transplant

This operation represented the first crossover kidney transplant in Latin America.
