District / Altenstadt - The renewal of the lane on the B 17 between the Peiting West and Hohenfurch junction, which took place in sections and stretched over several months, stayed within the specified time frame on most of its stages.

On the home straight, however, patience was again required: the completion of the Altenstadt junction was delayed by two weeks.

However, the new date can be kept, the state building authority is now promising the release on Friday tomorrow.

A total of ten kilometers is the length of the route, the lane renewal of which was tackled at the beginning of the Whitsun holidays.

Divided into six separate steps, one section after the other went through the stage.

Since September 10th, traffic has been rolling again on the entire B17.

The Altenstadt junction has remained closed since then.

"Due to the inconsistent weather in the past few weeks, this deadline cannot be met," explained the Weilheim State Building Authority at the time, why the target of October 1st was not to be met and tomorrow, Friday, October 15th, is being considered instead had to.

However, there will be no further postponement, explained the responsible department head Andreas Lenker in the middle of the week at the request of the district messenger: This time the Altenstadt junction will be released on schedule on Friday.

Remaining work still needs to be done, but “will continue to take place next to the roadway without affecting traffic,” says Lenker.
