Sitting together, socializing, camaraderie - the replacement Oktoberfest is a welcome distraction for Köllner Löwen.
As for the Munich Oktoberfest, Michael Köllner has bad timing.
When the Upper Palatinate took over the coaching job at TSV 1860 in 2019, the Oktoberfest was over for five weeks, on the Theresienwiese there was only the dismantling of the beer tents to visit.
A year later it was Corona that brought Köllner down some real beer tent fun.
And this year?
The pandemic is still not over - and the trainer's costume is still almost unused.

That changed yesterday. In the Sechzger-Alm on the club's premises, sponsors and patrons invited to a kind of Wiesn light, a small replacement program for the big (unusual) folk festival: 280 invited guests, including representatives of both shareholders present (Anthony Power / Hans Sitzberger) - and the complete Löwen professional team.
Shortly before 7 p.m., the players and their partners came in, all dressed in traditional costume - first and foremost Michael Köllner (“I grew up wearing lederhosen”), who honestly seemed to be happy about a bit of a change from the dreary sporting everyday life.

The evening is by no means a must, the trainer assured: “I think that is doing us quite well: sitting together, socializing, camaraderie.
We can live that today - perhaps not as excessively as one would normally do it. "After all, the table situation is not conducive to" that we will all jump on the tables and lift the pitchers up ".
But, the coach added with a smile: “Beer is allowed, even a real one.

At the first Sechzger Wiesn, organized by the blue circle of supporters, the club's premises will be transformed into a mini Oktoberfest from today - with live broadcast of the Verl game in the parlor (Saturday, 2 p.m.), free beer, Schafkopf tournament and performance by cabaret artist Roland Hefter .
