Seven months after a hunter in Ettlingen accidentally shot his daughter, the case is legally closed. The man has accepted a penalty order for 90 daily sentences for negligent homicide, said a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe.
In the January disaster, a shot from the then-56-year-old's rifle had come loose as he was about to leave the apartment for a hunt. The 19-year-old daughter was met and died a little later in the hospital. Earlier, "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" reported on it. The public prosecutor's office did not specify the daily rates.
The hunter should not have had the Bockbüchsflinte according to the provisions of the weapons law in a loaded state in the apartment. Weapons and ammunition must be stored separately in the gun cabinet. Loading is only allowed at the beginning of the hunt.
