The public screenings of the war narrative film “The Journey 17,” the latest productions of the General Film Organization, were launched at Al-Kindi Cinema in Tartous this evening, in the presence of the director of the work and a number of actors and real heroes from the officers of the Syrian Arab Army.
The film, which narrates part of the heroics of our army, was prepared and directed by Ali Ismail Al-Maghout, script and dialogue by Hassan Mustafa, and highlights one of the real epics of the heroes of our army that took place at the beginning of 2013 in a military unit in Raqqa Governorate, where its fighters faced herds of Takfiri terrorism supported by regional and foreign regimes.
After directing short films and the experience of the four directors for a feature film, director Al-Maghout presents his first directing experience, explaining in a statement to SANA that the film embodies a documented case of the Electronic Warfare Battalion of the 17th Division and the great cooperation to break the siege while entering into the depths of the human condition with a new directorial style “Deco Drama”, which is the transition from A representative case to a documentary case through the appearance of real people in the scenes of the film to confirm what happened with the addition of other details.
This cinematic style was not used before in Syrian films that recounted aspects of the war on Syria, according to Al-Maghout, in addition to showing the adventure journey to rescue wounded officers behind the ranks of terrorists with the help of the honorable people of Raqqa, stressing that a special screening will be held in Tartous Kennedy dedicated to the wounded of the army and a number of its members and officers in appreciation For the great sacrifices they made in defense of Syria.
In turn, a number of actors confirmed the importance and quality of the film, including the artist Wadah Halloum, who played the role of Colonel Akram, the commander of the battalion, saying, “We tried to present a simple aspect of the conditions that our brave soldiers lived in in the face of the siege imposed by terrorist organizations on Raqqa, in an attempt to convey the importance of their steadfastness and sacrifices in the manner of the “Deco Drama” based on the smoothness and spontaneity, noting the good impressions and positive reactions of the audience with the work in the provinces in which the film was shown.
Actor Tariq Nakhla embodied the role of Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Hammoud, considering that embodying an existing real character means a lot to him, especially the personality of a living martyr and one of our valiant army officers, wishing that he had performed it and delivered it with all sincerity.
Lt. Colonel Muhammad Hammoud, one of the heroes of our army, who tells the film about some of their heroism, described this work as distinguished in documenting and communicating the true picture of what happened and his injury with Lt. Col. Shadi Ahmed and how to take them out in a heroic manner by the battalion commander in light of the impossibility of treatment in the place where they were, stressing that the actors were creative realizing those events.
It is noteworthy that the film will continue to be shown in Tartous Kennedy for 15 days, at a rate of three shows per day.
