Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge won the men's Tokyo Marathon today, setting a record by winning four of the last six marathon majors.
Kipchoge scored two hours, two minutes and 40 seconds during the 42,195-km marathon at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, to win the fourth marathon in his career, after he also excelled in London, Berlin and Chicago.
Kenya's world record holder Brigid Kosgei also won the women's marathon title, clocking two hours, 16 minutes and two seconds, achieving the third best time ever.
Ethiopia's Ashite Bekere won the silver in 2:17:58, while the bronze went to her compatriot Gotitum Gebrselassie, who clocked 2:18:18.
