The president of the Spanish League, Javier Tebas, announced that the departure of the Argentine Barcelona star Lionel Messi from Barcelona will not affect the domestic championship and that Messi is the most affected.
The association quoted Tebas as saying on its official website: "If Messi leaves Barcelona, the brand (Messi - Barcelona) that exists and is working very well all over the world will be affected and Messi should think carefully about what he wants to do."
Messi had expressed his desire to leave Barcelona before the start of the new season and liberate him from his last year after internal disputes and a series of disastrous results that led to the team's exclusion from the Champions League quarter-finals.
