Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau today (10th) released the last year's air quality report of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Pearl River Delta Regional Air Monitoring Network and found that the concentration of pollutants was lower than in 2019.

However, the ozone situation is still unsatisfactory. Last year, the annual average concentration dropped slightly to 56 micrograms per legislative meter, but it was 27% higher than in 2006. It is the second highest since the monitoring network has recorded, reflecting that the photochemical pollution in the region needs to be improved.

The ozone situation in the Pearl River Delta last year was still unsatisfactory. The annual average value dropped slightly to 56 micrograms per legislative meter, but it was 27% higher than in 2006.

The monitoring network was launched in November 2005. Compared with 2006, the annual average concentrations of sulfur dioxide, inhalable particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide recorded last year decreased by 86%, 49%, and 43%, respectively.

Although the two monitoring factors of carbon monoxide and fine particulate matter were only added to the network system in September 2014, their annual average values last year have also fallen by 16% and 31% respectively compared to 2015.

Overall, last year’s annual average concentrations of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, inhalable particulate matter, fine particulate matter and carbon monoxide were the lowest on record.

The second highest ozone concentration ever in 2020

In terms of ozone, the annual average ozone concentration in 2019 reached 60 micrograms per legislative meter, the highest on record. Last year it fell slightly to 56 micrograms, but it was the second highest on record, 27% higher than in 2006, reflecting the photochemistry in the region. Pollution needs to be improved.

The governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will carry out a three-year (2021-2024) "Research on Photochemical Ozone Pollution and Regional and Trans-regional Transmission Characteristics in the Greater Bay Area" to strengthen the understanding of the sources of ozone precursors and the causes of ozone in the Greater Bay Area , And the characteristics of regional and cross-regional transmission.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced that the ozone concentration in the air quality epidemic last year was the second highest in 22 years and the nitrogen dioxide exceeded the standard

The ozone concentration continues to rise. The Environment Bureau says it needs regional cooperation with mainland scholars to advocate stricter emission standards

Severe photochemical pollution in the Pearl River Delta has deteriorated ozone concentration nearly 40% higher than in 2006

Last year, the ozone concentration reached a 21-year high. Nitrogen dioxide exceeded the standard. Environmental Protection Agency: The ozone problem is complicated

Since the record ozone level is set, the new high ring group batch air index has loopholes, and the quality is not bad.
